Caffe Quadri, historical environment of elegance in Venice, the Piazza San Marco, became under investigation.
The Caffe has been purchased a few months ago by brothers Alajmo (already famous for 'Calendre' of Rubano) who wanted to relaunch an activity 'which is not only for tourism, but that's insertion into the social fabric and habits of the Venetians , also as prices. For them, now comes a line of 'stop' on the ground that the renovations would not have missed some of the local constraints of the Superintendent.
It was the prosecutor of Venice Carlo Mastelloni to open a case of knowledge, with the objective of determining whether structural changes have all been authorized, and by whom.
The magistrate, the chronicles tells, he would have remained impressed for first person encountered by some interventions. The local historian, also known for his frequent cultural past few centuries, would have presented variations unexplained.
The restoration of Caffe 'Paintings have cost about 800 thousand euros. On June 2 last year was opened a new restaurant on the first floor above the Cafe', and in November he returned to open the coffee that provides the 'sitting' on the ground floor.
Now all the restoration will be passed to the magnifying glass to try to figure out whether it was breached some constraint, such as, for example, Article 169 of the Code which provides for penalties for those who “without authority destroys, removes, changes, restores that performs the works of any kind on cultural heritage “.
